Dear applicants!
Institute of Electrical and Power Engineering (IEPE) of AUES was established on October 2, 2017 on the basis of the legendary electric power faculty, which began in 1975. It trains specialists in the field of generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity. Our laboratories are equipped with modern electrical equipment and laboratory stands of the world’s leading companies. To implement innovative technologies, the departments work closely with the Moscow Energy Institute, the Tallinn University of Technology, other research institutes of the CIS and foreign partners. Students practice at leading oil, construction and industrial enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the end of the university graduates are employed at these enterprises or can continue their education in the magistracy and doctoral studies of Ph.D.
IEPE students are expected to have a busy student life, in parallel engaged in participation in scientific projects, as well as in a variety of sports sections and circles of amateur art. To build a successful future, we are waiting for you at the Institute of Electrical and Power Engineering!

Director of Institute of Electrical and Power Engineering

Information about the institute

History of Electrical Power Engineering Faculty of Noncommercial JSC “Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications” begun in 1960. Graduation department “Electrification of industrial enterprises” was established in the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute. Based on this department two new graduation departments “Power supply of industrial enterprises” and “Thermal power plants” were opened in 1961. In 1975, Almaty Energy Institute was created on the ground of departments “Power supply of industrial enterprises” and “Thermal power plants”, where the Electrical Power Engineering Faculty was formed. According to the decision of the Academic Council of AUES, from October 2, 2017, the Electrical Power Engineering Faculty was transformed into the Institute of Electrical and Power Engineering (IEPE).
Department laboratories of Electrical Power Engineering Faculty are equipped with modern electrical equipment and laboratory stands of Siemens (Germany), ABB (Switzerland), Schneider Electric (France), SATEC (Israel), Legrand (France), LLP “Aries” (Russia), Alageum Electric (Kazakhstan), Parma (Russia).

Institute of Electric power And Electrical engineering announces admission and training in 2 specialties:

Employees of the Institute are engaged in active teaching and methodical, research and contractual work.
