The Alumni Association of the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications is a structural unit at the University. It was created in accordance with the order of the rector No. 26 of 02.20.09. to unite the graduates of the University, their social advancement and development, as well as the effective use of their potential to strengthen the status of AUES as the leading university in Kazakhstan.
Alumni Association is a unit that organizes the interaction of graduates with a university. The purpose of its creation is the consolidation of graduates, strengthening the university’s relations with graduates, strengthening the university’s material and technical base, attracting the scientific potential of the university to solve the scientific and practical problems of enterprises, continuity and communication of generations, social support for needy students, and assistance in finding jobs for young graduates.
The following principles underlie the organizational structure of the Association: election of governing bodies, accountability to members of the Association and the Academic Council of AUPET, collegiality and democracy in decision-making, transparency of all activities of the Association.
The governing body of the Association is the Board of Trustees. It consists of the most respected AUES graduates of various specialties, as well as the heads or representatives of the Association, proposed by the heads of the graduating departments and vice-rectors of the non-profit joint-stock company AUES, or representatives of the Association authorized by the established procedure. The composition of the Board of Trustees on a mandatory basis is rector, directors of institutes, director of the department of academic affairs without the right to vote (the Regulation was approved by order of the rector No. 35 of 03/15/2019). non-voting are included.
The quantitative and personal composition of the Board of Trustees, its term of office is determined by the Academic Council of the non-profit joint-stock company AUES by open vote. In its activities, the Association is guided by the Regulation on the Alumni Association, as well as other local acts of AUPET and the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
