Institute ofEnergy and GreenTechnologies

The Institute of Heat Power Engineering and Control Systems was founded in 2017 on the basis of the Faculty of Heat Power Engineering. This faculty was created by the first rector Gumarbek Daukeyev. Today, the Institute trains engineers in the following areas: heat power engineering, industrial heat power engineering, automation and informatization in control systems, life safety, industrial safety and engineering ecology. 80 faculty work at the institute: academician of sciences, professors, doctors, candidates of technical sciences, PhD, assistants, laboratory assistants. The institute has a modern laboratory base.

Our students annually win prizes in the Republican Olympiads from "Samruk-Energy". They take an active part in the Scientific Research Work of the Students. Our students represented the university at the international exhibition EXPO-2017.

Students undergo an internship at the enterprise together with a partner, JSC "Almaty Electric Stations", thanks to the implementation of the Dual Education project.

Our partners are large well-known companies - power generation and distribution, control and service, oil and gas, oil refining, mining, global manufacturers in the field of automation, design and research organizations. Among them are LLP "Almatytelekommunenergo", JSC "Almaty Heating Networks", JSC "Alatau-Zharyk", LLP "MAEK-Kazatomprom",  "Tengizchevroil", "Karachaganak Petroleum Operating", "KazMunaiGas", "Kaztransgas", "Aktobemunaigas', "Kazakhoil", "Petro Kazakhstan - SHNOS", JSC "Aluminum of Kazakhstan", JSC "Kazzinc", JSC "Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Plant" , "Siemens", "Schneider Electric", "ABB", "Honeywell", "Aries", "Air Astana”, "Saiman Corporation", "Kazakhtelecom", JSC 'NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", JSC "Kazpost", "Philip Morris Kazakhstan" and many others. 97% of graduates are employed after graduation.

We make every effort to ensure that our students receive advanced knowledge, become highly qualified and sought-after specialists, leading scientists. We are waiting for you!

ABOUT INSTITUTE

The Institute of Energy and Green Technologies trains energy specialists who are involved in the generation, transmission, maintenance and operation of equipment based on traditional and renewable energy sources, as well as in the safety of human life when interacting with the technosphere and the environment.

The Institute of Energy and Green Technologies includes four graduating departments:

     - “Electric power industry”;

     - “Renewable and alternative energy sources”;

     - “Thermal power engineering”;

     - “Ecology and management in engineering.”

Our graduates are in demand and find employment not only in the Republic of Kazakhstan, but also abroad. The Institute of Energy and Green Technologies graduates specialists with professional and key management competencies, such as:

- responsibility;

- ability and readiness for self-development and leadership;

- creativity, innovative and out-of-the-box thinking;

  - flexible adaptability to changes;

- entrepreneurial thinking.

The Institute of Energy and Green Technologies was formed in August 2023 by merging the Institutes of Thermal Power Engineering and Control Systems and Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The institute has a rich history that dates back more than 45 years.

In 1975, the Almaty Energy Institute (AEI) was formed, in which the Electric Power and Thermal Power Engineering faculties were opened.

Currently, the Institute of Energy and Green Technologies employs 137 teachers, including: research professor - 3, teaching professor - 17, practical professor - 8, teaching professor - 8, professor - 9, associate professor - 20, senior lecturer - 47, teacher - 25.

The Institute of Energy and Green Technologies works closely with the industrial sector of the economy; the teaching staff actively conducts scientific, research and social projects that solve real industry problems. Our research becomes drivers of innovation and has practical significance for the successful development of society.
